Biography
Javier is highly qualified, holding a master’s in prosthodontics and a PhD in implant-related biomechanics.
After qualifying in Spain in 2007, Javier worked in private practice before moving to Aberdeen in 2015.
He also holds a diploma in implantology, an MSc in prosthodontics, and a PhD in the field of biomechanics in implant-supported prostheses. He is trained in orthodontics, craneo-facial disorders, sleep apnoea, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, kinesiology, and posturology.
Javier manages a wide range of dental cases. One day he might be using a simple splint to reduce headache, jaw problems and excessive wear for a patient who grinds or clenches their teeth. Another day, he may be using implants, crowns or bridges to help improve a patient’s ability to chew (and therefore to enjoy a varied diet).
He also enjoys carrying out smile makeovers with the latest technologies and treatments, including veneers, teeth whitening and teeth straightening.
Javier has presented at several meetings of the Spanish Society of Stomatological and Esthetic Prostheses (SEPES), the Spanish Society of Craniomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain (SEDCYDO), and a well-recognised dental college in Asturias.
