I qualified in Dentistry in 1980 and was commissioned into the Royal Army Dental Corps. Following several postings in Germany and the UK, I worked in maxillofacial surgery for 4 years before undertaking orthodontic training at Guy’s Dental School, gaining the MSc and the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). After Senior Registrar training in Portsmouth I was appointed Consultant Orthodontist to the Defence Dental Services working in Aldershot, Catterick and Gibraltar. I left the Army in 2000 to work at Only Orthodontics. In 2010 I was appointed as an examiner for the Membership in Orthodontics and MFDS at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and I am the Honorary Consultant Adviser in Orthodontics to the Army.
