After graduating from the London Hospital Medical and Dental School in 1998, I undertook vocational training and was then appointed as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford. I obtained my Fellowship in Dental Surgery in 2001 after which I moved to Australia. Here I worked at Westmead Hospital, in Sydney. Rotating between Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Forensic Dentistry. I gained a great deal of experience with nervous patients and became involved with teaching students before going into private practice. On returning to the UK, I continued to work in private practice and developing my interest in Orthodontics and the prevention and management of Dental Trauma. I completed an MSc in Orthodontics with Merit at the University of Warwick in 2016 and is now an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow. Alex divides her time between Exeter Dental Centre and the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital, where she is employed as a Specialty Doctor in Orthodontics.
