Biography
Dr. Julia Coelho achieved Honours in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Surrey in 2009 and graduated in Dentistry from Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry in 2013. Subsequently, in the same year, she commenced her career as a general dentist while concurrently pursuing training in non-surgical facial aesthetics and postgraduate education in Primary Dental Care.
In 2014, Dr. Coelho assumed the role of a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Working closely with consultants in theatres, she gained substantial experience in advanced surgical dentistry, participating in procedures such as facial reconstruction for cancer patients, trauma management, and the treatment of facial skin lesions. This immersive, hands-on exposure to head, neck, and facial anatomy not only inspired her but also equipped her to delve into the study, practice, and teaching of facial aesthetics procedures.
Continuously dedicated to advancing her expertise, Dr. Coelho actively participates in numerous advanced postgraduate courses, national and international conferences. She completed her Dental Implant training with the Centre for Advanced Dental Education (CADE) and received certification for completing a one-year course in Aesthetic Dentistry with Advanced Dental Seminars under the guidance of Dr. Chris Orr. In 2015, she attained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and in 2016, she earned a distinction in her Master’s degree from the University of Kent. Dr. Coelho is a certified Invisalign provider and is experienced in both fixed and removable braces.
