Laura received her DDS in dentistry from UNOESTE, Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1993. She worked in General Dentistry while preparing for the entrance exam for Orthodontics by engaging in several preparatory courses. In 1998 she completed a Specialist Degree in Orthodontics from UNICAMP, one of the top two Universities in Brazil. In 1999, she concluded her One-Year Program in Lingual Orthodontics training in Paris with Dr. Didier Fillion, the world authority in Lingual Orthodontics. and has since been involved extensively with the treatment of high end clientele. She relocated to the UK and completed her Statutory Exam with the General Dental Council in 2004. Between 2004 until 2016 she has treated a wide range of ambitious and sophisticated Orthodontic cases as part of a multidisciplinary team, working on extreme complex cases involving implants and full mouth reconstructions as routine. As part of the team, Laura has presented at various international conferences (including European academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, British Lingual Orthodontic Society and World Orthodontic Society) Lecturing has been part of her early days at Uni when she was chosen to be a mentor by her teacher in some subjects for the grades below. After graduating she took up jobs for training dental nurses and laboratory technicians as well. She co-founded the Brazilian Association of Lingual Orthodontics in 2000 and was the Vice-President for 2 years. She also co-founded the British Lingual Orthodontic Association in 2003 and was the past treasurer. Laura has published several papers and written chapters for two published books in Lingual Orthodontics. Her Masters Degree in Aesthetic Medicine is an added bonus which helps her plan the best smile for her patients.
