I qualified as a general dental practitioner in 1999, from the University of Malta. After working for 4 years in private practice and hospital and community settings in Malta, I moved to the UK in 2003 to read a postgraduate MSc degree at Cardiff University, which I completed with Distinction. I have since worked in a variety of settings in the UK; including NHS and private practices, hospital dental units; university teaching units and dental emergency services.
This 22-year experience has given me the ability to provide comprehensive, best quality treatment in most aspects of general dentistry. I take pride in having given numerous dentally anxious patients the confidence to take care of their teeth again and build a relationship with their dentist. I love educating patients as I believe that, if patients understand the problem, they are more likely to be actively involved in the solutions. Good treatment outcomes rely on good teamwork between patient and dentist.
I have chosen to be a certified Invisalign provider as I believe this is a key treatment modality for improving patients’ confidence in their smile. Combined with minimally invasive composite bonding, patients can have the smile they are looking for without compromising the health/structure of sound teeth.
Having worked with anxious patients (dental phobia) over the years, I believe I have honed the wonderful skill of listening to patients; a quality that helps me a lot when planning my Invisalign treatments to give patients the Smile they are looking for.
When I am not working at Cambria Dental Practice, I am busy with family and house.
I love being in the countryside when I get a chance and having a go at handicraft projects. I have also recently decided to address the lifelong ambition of learning to play the piano.
