Dr. Stephen O’ConnorSensu Group

Dr. O' Connor graduated in dentistry from University College Cork in the Republic of Ireland in 2010. He began his UK dental career in Scotland where he worked initially in general dental practice and subsequently for several years as a Senior House Officer in the hospital based specialties of oral surgery, oral and maxillo-facial surgery, oral medicine, oral and maxillo-facial radiology and paediatric dentistry. During this time Dr. O' Connor developed a particular interest in orthodontics as a result of which he undertook General Dental Council recognized specialist training in orthodontics, over three years in Newcastle in the North of England to reach specialist level and subsequently over an additional two years in Birmingham, one of the four centralized cleft and craniofacial centers in the UK, to consultant level. Dr. O' Connor is currently a consultant orthodontist in Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS foundation trust where he provides complex multi-disciplinary care for orthognathic surgical patients and patients with severe congenital hypodontia. In addition Dr. O' Connor fulfills the role of a clinical supervisor overseeing the teaching and training of post-graduate orthodontic specialist trainee's, with this teaching role being a particular passion of his. In addition to his consultant role Dr. O' Connor works in private orthodontic practice in central London. He has published both peer review research articles and case reports in international scientific journals. In specialist practice Dr. O' Connor's areas of interest are in combining facial and smile aesthetics. Stephen is an accredited provider of Invisalign and the Incognito and Winn lingual appliance systems as well as adult and paediatric labial fixed appliances. He believes in being aiding his patients to achieve their functional and aesthetic goals through caring and comprehensive orthodontic treatment.
