Dr Elgalaid got his BDS in 1995 (Libya) followed by two years in General Dental Practice before he arrived in the UK to pursue post graduate education. He attained a Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Leeds (1999-2001) then did a PhD in Glasgow University Dental Hospital and School (2001-2006). Dr Elgalaid gained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons MFDS from the Royal College of surgeon of Edinburgh in 2008.
All his postgraduate research has been published in peer-reviewed Dental Journals. He is also a Co-author of Essential Clinical Oral Biology, which is a textbook for undergraduate dental students.
