Tom is an award-winning Consultant and Specialist in Orthodontics. As well as working in practice, Tom also works as a Consultant Orthodontist at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield, where he is involved in the management of complex multidisciplinary cases. Tom is one of only a handful of orthodontists in the region who has trained to the highest possible level in the UK, having started as a general dentist before becoming a Specialist in Orthodontics and latterly a Consultant. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, where he is heavily involved in the clinical training of postgraduate orthodontic students. Tom has authored 15 peer-reviewed publications and has been an invited national speaker on several topics relating to Orthodontics. Tom studied Dentistry at the University of Sheffield, graduating with Honours in 2013. After increasing his exposure to a range of different dental specialities, Tom returned to the region to undertake both specialty and consultant training in Orthodontics. During this time, he obtained an MClinDent in Orthodontics (with Distinction), as well as his MOrth and ISFE qualifications. He has also been awarded several clinical and academic prizes, including the coveted Gold Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for being the best candidate nationally in the specialty exit examinations.
