My name is William Maguire, and I work as a specialist orthodontist working in Portadown and Belfast. I qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 2015. After this, I moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne and completed the 2-year General Professional Trainee scheme at Newcastle Dental Hospital. I completed Dental Core Training year 2 in Maxillofacial Surgery, followed by Dental Core Training year 3 in Dental Public Health.  During that time, I also worked as an Associate Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University, supervising undergraduate students in the Dental Emergency Clinic. Along the way, I have also completed a Master of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education with the University of Dundee and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Research with the University of Newcastle. After this, I embarked on three years of specialist Orthodontic training at Newcastle Dental Hospital. During most of this time, I concurrently worked as a general dental practitioner on Saturdays. In 2022, I completed my Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with merit, and gained Membership in Orthodontics through examination from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and Intercollegiate Membership in Orthodontics through examination from the Royal College of Surgeons England and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.
